Act 3: Preventive Custody

3.4 Preventive Custody – The Public Moment

Public Reading: Comadres De Dios (Sisters of God) at Tensta Konsthall

Preventive Custody was brought to life as a sound and light installation within the scenography created by Johanna Mårtensson, forming part of the Mining Life exhibition at Tensta Konsthall (October 2023 – February 2024). In keeping with the project’s core aims and values, we organised a public reading of the script as a way to test its impact in front of an audience. This reading served as a trial to gauge the script’s effectiveness and emotional resonance.

The performance was brought to life by local actors: Sandra Huldt, Eva Rexed, Nina Jeppsson, Sandra Medina, Annika Ryberg Whittembury, Pascalle Arias, and Lars Bringås. Their interpretation of the script allowed us to explore how the text translates to a live audience, offering invaluable insights for future full-scale productions in both Sweden and Peru.
